Our Story

This is the part where we tell you that we have spent 20 years cultivating the best beans from high on the mountain tops of Central America.
In reality… we are two adults that longed for the days of the late 90s. When rock music was grungy, when coffee was the drug of choice, where live music was priority, and sitting around with your friends was exactly what you wanted to be doing.
Being a barista in the late 90’s was the happiest times I can remember. So, when I was given the opportunity to create the space I SO wanted to return to… I was all in.
Myself (Julie) and my husband (Chris) have poured our heart and soul into @local. We want to foster young and emerging talent, give the young and older a space where they can just ‘hang out’. Keeping the coffeehouse purposefully technologically deficient was on purpose. I want you to come in and relax. I want you to come in and have a conversation. I want you to come in and breathe.
Our coffeehouse is welcoming to EVERYONE that walks through the door. We are a judgement free zone and protect that at all costs. It’s tough being “you” today… you can be you inside our walls.
On the coffee aspect - it doesn’t get ANY better than our offerings. Our Baristas are Bartenders without the alcohol. If you can make it up, we can make it! Each and every Barista has their very own specialty drink - just ask them, they’ll tell you! We have a massive selection of whole beans that you simply will NOT find anywhere else in the area. From the top coffee in the world - Kenya Fancy Mark - to a flavored Hawaiian Hazelnut, we have what your heart desires.
The most important part of @local is our ‘give back’. We are this community. Not a ‘part’ of the community.. we ARE the community. So giving back is something that I take seriously. Please watch our calendar for our special events.
Lastly - thanks for checking us out. In the year we’ve been open.. we’ve rocked some shows, slung some coffee, and had an amazing time!

Here’s to year two!
